Terms of Service

Updated at: 2026-04-30.

1. The service

Transfer from Webby provides file upload, transfer and sharing functionality. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, performance, or suitability for any purpose.

2. User responsibility

You are solely responsible for any files you upload, share, transfer, download, delete or export. You must not use the service for unlawful, harmful, abusive, infringing or malicious purposes. You confirm you have the legal right to share any content you upload.

3. Content moderation and takedown

We do not actively monitor all content. However, we may remove or restrict access to any file or account where we reasonably believe it breaches these terms, infringes rights, is unlawful, or creates risk to users or the public.

4. Abuse and reporting

If you encounter illegal content, copyright infringement, or misuse of the service, you should report it to us immediately.

Reports can be made by contacting: support@web.uk.net

Please include relevant details such as the file link, description of the issue, and your contact information. We will review reports and take action where appropriate, including removal of content or suspension of access.

5. Copyright

We respect intellectual property rights. While UK law applies, we accept DMCA-style notices and other valid copyright complaints and will act on them where appropriate.

6. Free and paid plans

Free and paid plans may include different limits such as file size, transfer duration or bandwidth. Fees contribute to infrastructure and bandwidth costs. Payment does not grant permission to misuse the service.

7. Availability and file retention

Files may be automatically deleted after download, expiry, or system processes. You are responsible for keeping your own copies. We are not a backup or permanent storage provider.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of data, files, profits, or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached or where necessary to protect the service or comply with law.

10. Legal compliance

You must comply with all applicable laws, including copyright, data protection, and online safety laws.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

12. Privacy

Transfer from Webby is designed to minimise data collection. We do not require user accounts and do not intentionally collect personal information such as names or addresses.

13. Minimal data / no logs approach

We operate a minimal or “no logs” approach. We do not intentionally retain IP addresses or identifiable usage logs. Limited technical data may be processed transiently where required to operate the service, maintain security, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

14. Cookies

We do not use third-party cookies. Any cookies used are strictly necessary for essential service functionality.

15. Lawful basis (UK GDPR)

Where personal data is processed, we rely on legitimate interests (service operation and security), contract (providing the service), and legal obligations.

16. Data retention

Files are typically retained for up to 7 days or until download/expiry. Temporary technical data is not retained beyond operational necessity. Payment records may be retained for up to 6 years where required by UK law.

17. Hosting and data location

Our infrastructure is located in the UK and/or EEA. Where processing occurs outside these regions, appropriate safeguards are applied.

18. Third parties

We do not sell personal data. Limited sharing may occur with essential service providers (such as hosting or payment processors) or where required by law.

19. Your rights

You may have rights under UK data protection law, including access, correction and erasure. Due to minimal data collection, we may not be able to identify individuals in all cases.
